The importance of business and financial services in Hong Kong makes the study of business, accounting and finance important for developing students to become valuable human beings with an entrepreneurial spirit in the future.  Students are expected to have developed an interest in knowing more about the business world and be prepared to make informed decisions on their choice of subjects in their senior secondary studies. The study of BAFS at the senior secondary level will provide students with essential business knowledge and skills for higher education/tertiary studies in business and for various careers.

The overall aims of the BAFS curriculum are:

  1. to provide students at senior secondary level with fundamental business knowledge and skills, and develop their positive values and attitudes, so that they can fulfil their roles competently and confidently as consumers, investors, employees and/or entrepreneurs;
  2. to develop students’ generic skills in research, analysis, leadership, team-building, communication, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving and transfer them to different domains; and
  3. to explore different aspects of business to prepare students for life, for learning and for employment.
